We have an adventure that we want to share with you so please take a few minutes to read through our presentation. Feel free to contact us at any time using our Response Form.  We will try to respond to every question in a timely manner.

THIS IS THE GREAT ADVENTURE

Webster's Dictionary defines "adventure" as "an exciting or remarkable experience".  According to that definition, life is full of all kinds of adventures and as we experience more things in life our concept of an adventure changes.  Some things that were adventurous to us as a child are no longer considered as an adventure because the experience is no longer exciting or remarkable.  We tend to migrate to those situations or places that offer new and exciting experiences only to find out that the "newness" of the situation eventually wears off and becomes the familiar.   It is for this reason that only one adventure can be labeled "Life's Great Adventure".  It is a lifetime adventure that has a distinct beginning that God initiates on our behalf.  So what does "Life's Great Adventure" have to do with God?  Good question.  We have the answer.  But first, we want to tell you about the one true and living God and who He is.  He consists of three distinct persons, separate yet inseparable.  God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.  How do we know this?  The Bible states in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning."  The "Word" in these verses refer to the person of Jesus Christ as clarified by John in Chapter 1, verse 14 which states "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Now let's talk about the "Great Adventure" and how it relates to God.  Life's great adventure is knowing God's purpose for your life and then living it to the utmost.  Think about it, many people go through life searching for purpose and meaning, yet a feeling of emptiness still resides deep within.  Sometimes this feeling of emptiness exists because of unanswered questions like:

bullet

What is the real meaning of life?

bullet

What happens after this life is over?

If you know God, the answers to these questions are available to you. Imagine knowing the answers, what an adventure life then becomes.  It is an adventure that has a definite beginning with God and continues every day.  The apostles Peter and Andrew were brothers making a living as fisherman on the Sea of Galilee when Jesus said to them "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men".  These two brothers responded to the call of Jesus and discovered God's purpose for their life.  So how do you come to know God's purpose for your life?  By first coming to know God.  God wants to share his thoughts with you and that is why knowing God is essential to finding out what your purpose in life is all about.  Did you know that God loves you absolutely and completely?  The Bible states in John Chapter 3, verse 16  "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life".   Your reading this presentation right now is evidence of God’s great love for you!  Will you respond to the call of God and become a part of His family?  As a family member, God can put true meaning and direction in your life.  Please read  "The Seven Step Journey of Faith to God". The first steps are tough so don’t get discouraged, God has already prepared the way.  Discover the gift of God that is waiting for you.

The Seven Step Journey of Faith To God

  1. Accept the truth of the following Bible verse by acknowledging that you have sinned:

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23

Every  person has sinned at some point in their life in one way or another.  Sin separates us from God but because God is a loving God, He prepared a way for our sins to be forgiven..

  2.  Acknowledge that the consequence of sin is spiritual death in a place called hell.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 6:23

Sin, whether small or great, is an act of disobedience toward God.  The consequence of sin is spiritual death in a place called hell unless we accept the forgiveness God offers through his Son, Jesus Christ.  Hell is a real place, a place of everlasting torment.  Let's look at the reference to hell in the book of Luke:

"In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire."
    Luke 16: 23-24

  3. Accept that God is willing to give you a gift, and that gift is eternal life through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

".... but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Gifts can only be given or received in order for it to be a gift.
God offers an invitation to all who will receive it.  The invitation from God is to receive the gift of eternal life through His Son and become a part of his family.

  4. Believe that Jesus died for you and took your punishment.

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Look at that combination of words, "His own love".  God really does love you. God sent his only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins and to take our punishment even though Jesus had never sinned. Jesus was the only one who was worthy to take our place.  Thus the penalty for sin (past, present and future) was "paid in full" through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

  5. Believe that Jesus is Lord.

"That if you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."  Romans 10:9

Believing that Jesus is Lord  means that you are willing to  turn away from whatever you have been trusting in (i.e.: good works, money, power, other beliefs, atheism, etc).

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."
    Ephesians 2:8-9

Salvation (eternal life) is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about itNotice that even the faith described here is a gift from God.  God gives us just the right amount of faith needed for us to receive salvation.  Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior is the only way to be saved.

  6. Believe that Jesus did come back to life after having died on the cross, thus having victory over death.

"That if you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."  Romans 10:9

  7. Ask and you shall receive the gift of God which is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

"For, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."  Romans 10:13

This is a promise of God, claim it by praying a prayer (prayer is talking to God)  similar to the following prayer and God will grant you the gift of eternal life and you will become a part of His family.  God is waiting to save you.

(Prayer of Salvation)
"Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and I believe that you died on the cross for all my sins.  Please forgive me of my sins.  I believe that you were raised from the dead and are alive and that you hear my prayer.  I now turn away from what I have been trusting in and put my complete faith and trust in you.  Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and Savior and trust you to take me to heaven when I die.  Thank you for saving me and make me the kind of person You want me to be.  Amen"

If you prayed a prayer similar to the one listed above and meant it, you are now and forever a part of God’s family. Now and forever is a long time, in fact it is infinity.  How can we be so sure about this?  Refer to our page entitled "Assurance" because God has some things to speak to you about on this very subject out of His Word the Bible.  Please send us an e-mail so that we may rejoice in your decision to accept Jesus as your personal Lord & Savior.  Don't forget to read the First Steps page which will give you directions on how to grow spiritually and become what God wants you to be. This is the Great Adventure!

If you were unable to pray a prayer similar to the one listed above because you still have some questions about what you read, don’t feel alone, send us an e-mail with your questions and we will respond. Several of the people involved with the content of this site had questions that needed to be answered before they committed their lives to Jesus.
