"Hear, O
Israel: The LORD our God, the Lord is One."
(Deuteronomy
chapter 6, verse 4)
Throughout the Bible, God is referred to as the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. One of the great mysteries of God is
that He is a triune God yet He is One. We know that the three parts of
the Godhead are one God but work in different ways. As you begin to study
God's Word, it would be helpful to identify the different roles of the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit whenever they are clearly defined in
scripture.
In order to understand the fruits of the Spirit
or deeds of the Spirit, we must first understand who the Spirit is, what He does
and how He helps us live our lives pleasing to God. Following is a list of
the "Fruits of the Spirit" with links to those individual pages as
well as a link to "What is the Spirit?". We suggest that you
first read the lesson on "What is the Spirit?" before proceeding to
the lessons on the "Fruits of the Spirit" as this will help you better
understand the "Fruits of the Spirit" lessons.
Fruits of the Spirit
"But the fruit of
the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. Against such
things there is no
law." (Galatians Chapter 5, verses 22-23)
