What does God's Word
(the Bible) say about positively knowing that we have been given everlasting
life and why the significance? First let us examine what God's Word
states in the following Bible verses:
 |
I write these
things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may
know that you have eternal life. I
John 5:13
|
 |
But these are
written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God, and
that by believing you may have life in his name.
John
20:31
|
 |
I tell you
the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent
me has
eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over
from death
to life. John
5:24
|
 |
That if you
confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
|
The above verses
clearly let us know that God wants us to know that we have been given eternal
life. But why? Simply put, here are two reasons:
-
God
Loves You!
-
We
will be more fruitful in that we will allow the "Fruits
of the Spirit" to
shine forth in our lives if we know that we have eternal life.
"Fruits of the Spirit" are defined in more detail on the "First
Steps" page.
